Sumy protested against the strengthening of the quarantine
Businessmen gathered under the City Hall building demanding to allow the work of catering establishments and shopping centers.
Local businessmen protested under the Sumy City Hall building demanding not to increase the quarantine after the city entered the red zone. Sumy reports it today Saturday, October 10.
In particular, businessmen demanded that catering establishments, cafes, restaurants and shopping centers be allowed to operate, despite the high prevalence of COVID-19.
Soon the mayor of the city, Alexander Lysenko, came to light and explained that the local authorities did not have the authority to ease the restrictions imposed by the government, but that they could reconsider if the situation improves in a week.
A representative from one of the Sumy shopping centers said the institution will continue to operate after the introduction of new restrictions. The rest of the entrepreneurs also decided not to close their establishments.
Let us remember that the quarantine measures are being reinforced in Sumy. The city is introducing a “100 percent mask regime” and also restricting the holding of mass events.
