Atambayev was detained by officers of the special police unit.
“Atambayev has been arrested, at the moment the issue of a containment measure against the former president is being decided,” said the headquarters of the Social Democratic Party.
According to the 24.kg news agency, the former president was arrested in a criminal case for organizing massive riots in Bishkek.
We will remember, yesterday, at the rally, Atambayev made a strong statement about the beginning of the third revolution in the country. At the same meeting, unknown persons opened fire on Atambayev.
