In Ukraine, the procedure for making car numbers and the rules for their issuance are changing. The innovation was initiated by the Interior Ministry, and the government on October 9 supported the corresponding bill.

The document presupposes the modification of the rules for the issuance of vehicle plates. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine.

Now when registering a vehicle at a service center, car owners will receive only one registration certificate, no longer license plate.

Citizens will be able to choose “license plates” on their own at their discretion, from the combinations of placards available free of charge and not just those found at the Home Office service center.

Thus, the owner of the vehicle can go to the Electronic Cabinet of the Driver, look for a toll-free number and reserve it.

Its production can be ordered by commercial entities that have the right to produce numbers according to the state standard.

For the innovation to be implemented, the bill must have the support of the people’s deputies in the Rada. Vice Minister of Internal Affairs Sergei Goncharov expressed the hope that this is not the case, and “this will be another step towards simplifying the process of providing public services.”
