Ukrainians will be able to get tested for the coronavirus for free in private laboratories. 100 million were earmarked for this.

The government in a meeting on Friday, October 9, gave permission to test for coronavirus for free in private laboratories.

The Cabinet of Ministers allocated 100 million UAH to the Ministry of Health for COVID-19 testing in laboratory centers that are subordinate to the Ministry.

“With this law, we add private laboratories to the testing process, that is, to make it free for citizens of Ukraine,” said the head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers launched an experimental project to obtain specific hyperimmune blood plasma containing antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 for the contract production of immunoglobulin from it for use in the treatment of coronavirus.

In the event that clinical trials are successfully completed, this drug will be used to treat COVID-19 patients in serious condition.

“We, in turn, completed the clinical trials of conventional immunoglobulin, which yielded quite good results, now the relevant documents are being drafted in the state expert center, and we consider it necessary to move in this direction and also start such hyperimmune immunoglobulin tests. “Stepanov said.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers approved an agreement with the Japanese government on the provision of humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the form of the drug Favipiravir (Avigan), which was used to treat COVID-19.

Note that today the media published a photo of a huge queue of people wanting to get tested for coronavirus near a laboratory in Kiev.
