Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that thanks to the troops’ actions today, it was possible to change the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. He also asked Armenia to withdraw its troops.
Aliyev said this in a televised speech to the people.
He pointed out that the old status quo in Karabakh between the countries no longer exists and now there is only one way to resolve the situation.
“I changed the status quo, on the battlefield. There is no line of contact? There is no line of contact. We broke it and destroyed it. For 30 years, the Armenian armed forces strengthened the line of contact with concrete structures. In addition , the terrain is such that we are climbing from below And these structures were also destroyed, “emphasized Aliyev.
He said that the actions against the Armenian troops will continue in the future.
“This victory is the most brilliant victory of the Azerbaijani people in history. We will return all our lands and restore territorial integrity. We will continue to drive the enemy from our lands,” added the President of Azerbaijan.
Aliyev also said that Azerbaijan occupied 9 more settlements in Karabakh. In particular, the formal Hadrut regional center is busy.
Let us remind you that previously the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, stated that Yerevan is ready to resume the peace process on the settlement of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to him, it should be held on the basis of the OSCE Minsk Group.
