And to provide the bed fund and specialists for the treatment of coronavirus patients in public medical institutions located in Kiev. institutions of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, the Ministry of Health and departmental medical institutions. These institutions, I emphasize, are located in the capital and cannot stand aside and not provide the people of Kiev with the necessary assistance, “Klitschko emphasized.

In his view, authorities at all levels should jointly counteract the pandemic and protect people, and not hand over responsibility to someone else.

“There are no ours, not our hospitals. There is a task: to provide care to all COVID-19 patients. The health care system must function in a harmonious and responsible manner. You must also understand that, in addition to coronavirus patients, the medical institutions in the capital provide assistance to all patients who need hospital treatment. ” – added the mayor.

He noted that the number of patients requiring hospitalization is now increasing. Thus, today in the hospitals of the capital hospitals are treated 1675 coronavirus patients, 36 of them are children. 338 patients are in serious condition, 527 are receiving oxygen support, 46 are on ventilation. Another 140 patients are in hospitals with suspected coronavirus. 574 patients receive pneumonia treatment in the capital’s medical institutions.

“The city has done everything possible so that all coronavirus patients can receive medical care. We are acting proactively. And we have gradually increased the number of beds for the admission of patients who require hospitalization. Today, there are more than 2.5 thousand beds in 20 medical institutions in the capital. The occupation of these beds is already more than 70%“, – said Klitschko.
