Armenian leadership toughens martial law conditions in the country

Campaigns aimed at “undermining the defense capacity and security of Armenia” are banned in the country.

The Armenian authorities have tightened the martial law introduced on September 27 in connection with the escalation of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, prohibiting criticism of their decisions and actions. This was announced on Thursday, October 8, Armenia reports today.

In particular, criticizing the defense capacity of Armenia, as well as the actions of the authorities guaranteeing the legal regime of martial law, is prohibited.

“Campaigns aimed at undermining the defense capacity and security of Armenia are prohibited,” the agency said in a statement. The police will monitor compliance with the new rules.

The portal recalls that a general mobilization has begun in the state, all recruits under the age of 55 were recruited into the army and the military began to attract citizen vehicles for their needs.

It was previously reported that Armenia will receive military assistance from the Collective Security Treaty Organization in the event of a real threat to its territorial integrity or a direct military attack.
