The police are investigating the circumstances of the deaths of three military recruits in the military city of Novoivnitskoe, Zhytomyr region. The main version of the incident is considered to be carbon monoxide poisoning.

The three men rented an apartment for rent, they were from the Dnieper, Sumy and Chernivtsi regions. Two of the victims turned 23, one, 21.
You can tell they started looking for the military in the morning when they didn’t show up for morning training.
“Measures were taken regarding their place of stay. Their bodies were found at their place of residence,” said deputy commander of the military unit Sergei Polishchuk.
Neighbors say they learned of the youths’ deaths from the police. As it turned out, the body of a boy was found in the kitchen of the apartment, the second was in the bathroom and the third on the sofa. There were no traces of violent death. According to the neighbors, the young people were educated.
The investigation is now considering several versions of the tragedy, but the main one is carbon monoxide poisoning. The exact cause of death must be determined by examination.
“Since during the inspection it was established that there is adequate equipment and the leak may have occurred due to its malfunction,” said Alla Vashchenko, head of the public relations department of the State Institution of National Branch in the Zhytomyr region.
Neighbors of the victims are inclined to the same conclusion. According to them, the house has autonomous heating and each apartment has gas boilers and water heaters. The gas workers are working at the scene of the incident but are refusing to communicate with journalists.
The death of the military in the Zhytomyr region
- In the village of Novoivnitskoe, Andrushevsky district, Zhytomyr region, the bodies of three contract soldiers were found in a rented apartment this morning.
- It was established that the deceased were contracted military personnel. These are 23-year-old natives of the Sumy and Dnepropetrovsk regions and 21-year-old natives of Chernivtsi.
