NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy’s head of the board, Andriy Kobolev, today received documents about the opening of criminal proceedings against the gas regulator on charges of high treason. Naftogaz took this step as an insistent invitation to discussion.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy management on charges of high treason in connection with their activities. The head of the board of the company Andrey Kobolev announced this to “Hromadsky Radio” on 8 October.
Manufacturing refers to the activities of the management of the company.
“But it is difficult to investigate the activities of the management without the name Kobolev. [производство] built on charges of high treason. I don’t know when it’s open. I received the papers on this matter today, “he said.
Naftogaz took this as “a very insistent invitation to a public discussion”
“We are ready to accept this invitation. We have nothing to hide. We are absolutely open about the state audit, the debt reserve and all other issues,” Kobolyev said.
The head of the board admitted that he had already lost track of the criminal proceedings against Naftogaz.
“I personally stopped counting after I was personally fined 8 billion UAH in 2018. As an individual, the state customs issued such a fine. In court, we were able to show that there were no grounds for punishment and that this fine was incorrect,” he.
Naftogaz has not yet commented on the transfer of the final audit certificate to the SBU.

The source of “Economic Truth” in “Naftogazi Ukrainy” said that State Audit Office sent the audit materials of the company to the Main Directorate of Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine in the economic sphere.
Naftogaz ended 2019 with a net profit after tax of 63.3 billion UAH. The company’s companies produced 16.1 billion subway³ gas (78% of the total gas production in Ukraine) and provided transit of 89.6 billion m³ of gas.
In January-June 2020, Naftogaz received a net loss of 11,541 million UAH. Such results of the work in the company were explained by the coronavirus pandemic and the fall in oil and gas prices.
