Pseudo-Tikhanovskaya participated in a meeting of the Danish parliament. She was exposed after being asked about animal brothels.

A person posing as the leader of the Belarusian opposition, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, attended a closed online meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Folketing (Danish Parliament). This was reported on October 8 by the press service of the parliament.

At the beginning of the meeting, the pseudo-Tikhanovskaya and her assistants said that they had problems with the computer camera, so it was allegedly impossible to see the politician. After about 40 minutes, the meeting participants realized that there had been a fake, the meeting was interrupted.

Danish MPs contacted representatives of Tikhanovskaya and learned that she was not in contact during the meeting and that someone else was playing her role.

During the meeting, nothing was said that could jeopardize Denmark’s official foreign policy, the press service notes.

“I hope this is just a rude joke, but I am clearly concerned that the security of the meeting has been compromised. This is food for thought, ”said committee chair Martin Lidegaard.

Danish channel TV2 found out how MPs realized something had gone wrong. Suddenly “Tikhanovskaya” changed the subject of the conversation and asked how things were going with the “animal brothels” in Denmark. The committee’s deputy chairman, Michael Ostrup Jensen, told the television station that politicians responded to the sudden question before the connection was cut. According to Jensen, the interface of the account from which the doll was contacted was exactly the same as that of the real Tikhanovskaya.

The meme about the “brothels with animals” that supposedly exist in Denmark was spread by the European satirical media and was picked up by some Russian sites. In September, Russian State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev seriously cited the news that turtles were being raped in Denmark on the air of Russia 1 TV channel.

Pranker Vovan, in an interview with Reuters, did not rule out that the Russian Federation was involved in the appearance of the fake Tikhanovskaya at a meeting of the Danish parliament, but promised to provide details next week.
