Johnson and Zelensky signed a cooperation agreement
The leaders of the two countries signed an agreement on political cooperation, free trade and strategic partnership.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson signed a series of important bilateral documents on Thursday, October 8, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said on his Facebook page.
He noted that this is a political cooperation, free trade and strategic partnership agreement that will replace the Association Agreement in trade with Great Britain after Brexit.
According to him, this is the first such agreement signed by Great Britain and was signed with Ukraine.
Kuleba also called this agreement historic.
“Historic moment: we signed an agreement. As Prime Minister Boris Johnson said, this means more trade, more security, more interaction between Ukraine and the UK. The two flanks of Europe, western and eastern, have become even closer,” Kulebav said on his Twitter.
The corresponding agreement was signed during President Zelensky’s visit to London, which began the day before.
It was previously reported that the UK will have a trade representative for Ukraine. This position is being introduced within the framework of a new bilateral cooperation agreement between the countries.
It was also learned that Great Britain will help in the development of the Navy. We are talking about the supply of modern models of military equipment and the latest high-precision weapons.
