The Ukrainian president and his wife attended an audience with members of the British royal family.
As part of a visit to the UK, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Elena met with members of the British royal family, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William and Duchess Katherine Middleton, the OP’s press service reported.
This is President Zelenskiy’s first audience with members of the royal family.
During the audience, Prince William highlighted the importance of the official visit and Zelenskiy highlighted the warm welcome felt by the Ukrainian delegation in the UK and the importance of supporting people-to-people contacts.
“Human contacts are always the most important for the country. Ukraine and the UK share a vision on many issues,” Zelensky said.
It is noted that during the meeting an exchange of opinions was held on a series of issues on the international agenda, in particular with regard to environmental initiatives, as well as bilateral cooperation in medical rehabilitation of military personnel, gender and social equality and fight against domestic violence.
Interlocutors also discussed the need for close coordination between the countries of the world to overcome the coronavirus pandemic and ensure equitable access by states to a vaccine if it is developed.
Zelensky invited the royal couple to visit Ukraine.
