A record 685 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the Kharkiv region per day. Ukraine’s Health Minister Maxim Stepanov drew attention to the fact that there was a concert in Kharkov on October 3.
In Ukraine, during the last day, most of the new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the Kharkiv region. This was announced on October 7 by the Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov, correspondent of the reports of the publication “GORDON”.
“The highest number of confirmed cases was recorded in the Kharkiv region – 685, including the city of Kharkiv – 509. This includes [вопрос] to the local authorities, for which it was very necessary to hold a corresponding concert on October 3. With such a situation, ”said the minister.
According to him, Kiev ranked second in terms of the daily number of detected COVID-19 cases: 383 cases.
685 new cases is a record number for all regions of Ukraine per day.
On October 3, a concert dedicated to Teacher’s Day took place in the Novobavarsky district of Kharkov, where the Ukrainian singer Olya Polyakova performed.
On September 4, the police of the Kharkov region notified that criminal proceedings were initiated for the act of the concert under Part 1 of art. 325 (violation of sanitary rules and norms for the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisonings) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to law enforcement officials, they gave advance warning of compliance with quarantine restrictions, but the event took place and was attended by about 2,000 people.
Polyakova herself linked this “uproar” with the upcoming elections. According to her, the concert was attended by fewer people who used the subway not in quarantine.
The authorities of the Novobavarsky district of Kharkiv claim that they did not organize the concert.
Since September 28, Kharkiv has been in the “orange” zone of restrictions.
As of October 7, a total of 239,337 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in Ukraine, of which a record 4753 – during the last day… 4,597 COVID-19 patients died, 105,970 recovered.
Stepanov said a record number of PCR tests had been carried out in Ukraine the day before.
