Experts have discovered a massive death of marine organisms living at the bottom of Avacha Bay, near the coast of Kamchatka. About 95% are dead.
This was reported by the press service of the government of the Kamchatka Territory, reports RBC.
During the dive, it was found that at depths of 10 to 15 m there is a massive death of organisms that live at the bottom of the soil.
Ivan Usatov, a researcher with the Kronotsky Nature Reserve and the Pacific Institute of Geography, noted that some large fish, shrimp and crabs were preserved in the bay, but in significantly small quantities.
Diving in the area of Starichkov Island and Salvation Bay, the researchers also found massive remains of dead benthos (organisms that live deep in the ground). In addition, the underwater photographer reported that due to a dive in the bay, he had a mucous burn.
Members of the expedition declared that the scale of the disaster would only increase.
We will recall, in Russia in the Kamchatka Territory since the beginning of September, multiple poisonings began to be registered after contact with the ocean.
Some complained of a mucous membrane burn even after walking along the coast. At the same time, local authorities declared that the information on the network about the leakage of toxic waste into the ocean in Kamchatka was false.
