Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy removed Aivaras Abromavichius from the post of CEO of state concern Ukroboronprom. The corresponding decree was announced today on the president’s website.
By the following decree, Zelensky appointed Igor Fomenko acting CEO of the company.
Previously, he held the position of deputy general manager for armor, radars and special equipment at Ukroboronprom.
Zelensky appointed CEO of Abromavicius Ukroboronprom on August 30, 2019.
In April 2020, Ukroboronprom Deputy General Manager Mustafa Nayem said that Ukroboronprom would be liquidated, and in its place would create six corporations specializing in rocketry, aircraft construction, armored vehicles, radar and marine systems, as well as aircraft repair.
In May, Abromavičius announced that the concern would be reformed in three stages.
On August 5, he confirmed his plans to leave this position.
