Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy removed Aivaras Abromavichus as CEO of State Concern Ukroboronprom. In addition, the head of state appointed the acting director general of the state concern Igor Fomenko, who holds the position of deputy general director of production at Ukroboronprom, as Strana predicted in July.
Zelensky signed the relevant decrees on Tuesday, October 6, according to the press service of the President of Ukraine.
“To appoint Fomenko Igor Alexandrovich Acting Director General of the State Ukroboronprom”, says decree No. 423/2020. In No. 422/2020 Zelensky dismisses Abromavichus.
Let’s remember Abromavicius, who in 2014-2016. headed the Ministry of Economic Development of Ukraine, was appointed Director General of the State Concern “Ukroboronprom” by the decree of Zelensky on August 30, 2019. Previously, in July of the same year, he headed the supervisory board of the state enterprise, to which it was presented a month before by the decree of Zelensky.
Fomenko previously held the position of deputy general manager of armored, radar and special equipment at Ukroboronprom.
On September 11, the director general of the state concern Ukroboronprom Aivaras Abromavichus wrote a letter of resignation. Three candidates were considered for the new leader’s place.
