Trump’s first televised debate with Biden took place on September 29.
At the same time, the Democrat regretted calling his Republican rival a clown.
Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden said his rival, incumbent President Donald Trump, interrupted him and moderator Chris Wallace 158 times during the first debate. He announced it on Monday, October 5, during an online meeting with voters hosted by NBC.
Yet despite this, the Democrat regrets calling Trump a clown.
“I should have said it was a buffoon, instead of calling it a clown,” Biden admitted.
He also emphasized that the head of the White House did not actually answer a single question.
“I tried to figure out how to make him behave with respect during the debate, with respect for the moderator, and give us all a chance to speak. It was clear that he was not going to speak on the merits,” said the Democrat.
Recall that the first round of Trump’s election debate with Biden took place on September 29 in Cleveland, Ohio. The second is scheduled for October 15 in Miami Florida and the third for October 22 in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to a poll published by the media, Biden performed better than the current president in the first debate. Yet Trump believes he won.
