The authorities of the Novobavarsky district of Kharkov, on whose territory the Olya Polyakova concert was held in violation of quarantine restrictions, said they did not organize this event.
Police cannot find out who organized Olya Polyakova’s concert in Kharkiv, during which restrictions imposed in connection with the coronavirus epidemic were violated. The public was informed about this on October 5 by the head of the Novobavarsk police department, Yury Zhuk.
“A request was sent to the Novobavar administration about the organizers of this event. At the same time, it was explained about the prevention of violations of quarantine measures. Currently, we have not received a response,” he said.
According to Zhuk, the police could not “disperse the crowd” because it was not a mass disturbance.
The TV channel notes that the citizens of Kharkiv were invited to the concert on behalf of Mayor Gennady Kernes’ team, and he is now in Germany, where he went after discovering COVID-19.
Tatyana Tsybulnik, head of the Novobavarsky district administration in Kharkiv, said her department was neither the initiator of the concert nor the organizer.
“We, within the framework of our powers, organize the State Emergency Service (Civil service for emergency situations. – “GORDON”), police, ambulance. We send letters to the corresponding departments. We had a conversation with a businessman who was supposed to provide people with personal protective equipment. I know that masks were distributed, ”the official explained.
On September 4, the police of the Kharkiv region notified that in the event of a concert on October 3 in the Novobavarsky district of Kharkov with the participation of Polyakova, a criminal proceeding was initiated under Part 1 of art. 325 (violation of sanitary rules and norms for the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisonings) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to law enforcement officials, they gave advance warning of compliance with quarantine restrictions, but the event took place and was attended by about 2,000 people.
Polyakova herself linked this “uproar” with the upcoming elections. According to her, the concert was attended by fewer people who used the subway not in quarantine.
Since September 28, Kharkiv has been in the “orange” zone of restrictions.
As of October 5 in Ukraine confirmed 230.2 thousand cases of coronavirus infection, 4,430 patients with COVID-19 died, 101.3 thousand recovered.
