223 Karabakh soldiers died in 8 days of fighting
The situation in some areas of the Karabakh conflict zone is difficult, the NKR troops withdrew.
The unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army announced a tactical withdrawal from some parts of the line of contact. The press secretary of the NKR president, Vahram Poghosyan, stated this on Monday 5 October on Facebook.
“Based on tactical considerations, the Defense Army has withdrawn troops in some areas of the line of contact to avoid unnecessary casualties and inflict more damage on the enemy,” he wrote.
Poghosyan noted that the Karabakh forces achieved their objective in both cases. “The army command continues to conduct combat operations in a professional manner. The day is not far off when we will see the withdrawal of the disorganized enemy army,” he wrote from.
The difficult situation in some areas of the Karabakh conflict zone was also recognized by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan.
“In some areas, the Karabakh Defense Army confidently controls the situation, in some areas the situation is very difficult. I do not hide it,” he said on Facebook.
The prime minister asked the demobilized military a year ago to rejoin the army. “Our legislation does not allow them to mobilize even in times of war, but I urge them to mobilize,” he said.
“You must know that this is a fight for the right to life. Otherwise, we will be subjected to genocide,” Pashinyan said.
At the same time, the Armenian Defense Ministry reports on the suppression of the offensive by Azerbaijani troops in Karabakh.
Previously, the Karabakh army announced the death of 223 soldiers since the beginning of the escalation of the conflict on September 27, including 21, during the previous day.
