The Chinese authorities are investigating the appearance of a new coronavirus, but they refused to specialists from the World Health Organization who wanted to participate in it. This was commented to the British Sky News channel by the WHO representative in China, Godin Galea.

“We know that a national investigation is already underway, but at this stage we were not invited to join him,” Galea said. He emphasized that WHO had repeatedly offered its assistance to China.

A WHO representative noted that as much information as possible about the virus was needed to prevent a recurrence of the pandemic.

He also said that WHO was unable to examine the journals of two laboratories working with viruses in Wuhan, the Wuhan Institute of Virology and the Wuhan Center for Disease Control.

Galea added that the WHO did not doubt the natural origin of the virus.
