It may be a bit strange, but in the first half I liked Crystal Palace. The guests managed not only to stop the attacks of the “blues”, but also to carry out their counterattacks, to act in a compact and organized way in defense. There were moments for Hodgson’s team: Zaha, Ayu, Sako and Townsend found opportunities to flare up. Something broke in the “eagles” just after the break.
“Chelsea” did not force events, as if waiting for the opponent’s first error, and it happened quite quickly, in the 50th minute. The defenders could not get the ball out of the penalty area, a series of failed actions, the ball bounced towards Chilwell, who shot Guayt’s door point-blank – 1: 0.
“Crystal Palace” tried to get together and play like he did before the break. It turned out to carry out two and a half interesting combinations, as “blue” scored the second goal. Again, nothing special – a canopy in the penalty area, sleepy defenders allowed their heads to go through Zuma and the ball into the net. Watch one of the heroes of the Chilwell encounter account.
Then there were two penalties, perhaps not obvious, while it is important to understand that Crystal Palace was confused and completely lost control of the game. Jorginho scored twice from the penalty spot after fouls on Abraham and Havertz. Abraham wanted to shoot the second penalty, but Azpilicueta stole the ball and returned it to pitcher Jorginho.
So the two-fight winless series was interrupted. And this is Chelsea’s most convincing win of the season, bringing the Aristocrats back to the leading group. However, the victory turned out to be everyday and not very impressive, because the guests could not impose a full-fledged fight on the hosts.
