A coronavirus outbreak has been recorded among White House employees and senior US officials.

Many of them were evaluated after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, was diagnosed with the coronavirus. As of October 3, it turned out that at least seven people were infected who participated in the same event: Amy Barrett’s nomination for the post of Justice of the United States Supreme Court to replace the late Ruth Ginsburg. The well-attended ceremony took place in the White House rose garden a week ago, on Sept. 26, recalls The Guardian.

In addition to Donald Trump himself and his wife Melania, the coronavirus was also found:

  • from former presidential adviser Kellianne Conway, who is considered close to Trump (mild symptoms declared);
  • Trump’s closest aide, Hope Hicks;
  • from Republican Senators Mike Lee and Tom Tillis (the latter described his symptoms as «about allergies ”) – both are members of the Senate Judicial Committee, which is now questioning the upcoming hearings on the confirmation of the new candidacy in the Supreme Court;
  • from the President of the University of Notre Dame, John Jenkins.

They all attended the White House rose garden a week ago for Amy Barrett’s nomination ceremony, where most of the guests were unmasked.

In addition to this list, COVID-19 was confirmed by Donald Trump’s campaign headquarters chief Bill Stepien. He has «mild flu-like symptoms. “

Stepien accompanied Trump on a trip to Cleveland, where the first presidential debate took place on September 29.

Donald Trump was admitted to Walter Reed Military Hospital a day after he was diagnosed with COVID-19.

It was previously reported that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, had a fever.

On October 2, Donald Trump announced that he and his wife, Melania, had been diagnosed with the coronavirus. According to the president’s treating physician, he will continue to perform his duties.

Before that, it was learned that the disease was found in his first assistant, Hope Hicks.

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has yet to be diagnosed with coronavirus, although he had previously participated in a debate with Trump.

The test of US Vice President Mike Pence and his wife also came back negative.
