The British authorities imposed sanctions on the citizens of the Russian Federation and their companies involved in the construction of the Kerch Bridge. The sanctions were imposed after the European Union.

This is stated in documents from the UK Treasury Department.

In particular, Great Britain has updated the list of natural and legal persons who are subject to financial sanctions for violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Grand Service Express CEO Alexander Ganov and Stroygazmontazh company’s deputy CEO for infrastructure projects Leonid Ryzhenkin were under British sanctions.

Among the companies that were restricted were Lenpromtransproekt, the Directorate for the construction of the Berkakit-Tommot-Yakutsk railway, the Crimean railway and the First Crimean Insurance Company.

All assets of individuals associated with these companies will be frozen within the jurisdiction of the UK.

In total, the British sanctions are applied against 177 people and 48 companies.

We will recall, on October 1, that the EU agreed to personal sanctions against individuals and companies of the Russian Federation for rail communications with occupied Crimea.

Furthermore, Cyprus blocked the imposition of sanctions against Russia for rail connections with occupied Crimea.

As explained in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Nicosia’s actions are mainly related to the defense of national interests.
