The OBOZREVATEL correspondent, along with other journalists, were attacked in the Azerbaijani village of Terter.

Armenian troops fired on the village with “Grads” and 120mm mortars. (to see the video, scroll the page to the end).

The OBOZREVATEL correspondent managed to escape the bombardment.

There is also information on at least one local resident injured during the bombing. There is still no data on the injured journalists.

The journalists took refuge after the bombing.

According to the aide to the President of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, about 2 thousand shells were fired at Terter at 14:10.

The town of Terter is on the front line, next to Nagorno-Karabakh, but there are no Azerbaijani armed forces nearby.

What is the essence of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh?

The conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia began in Nagorno-Karabakh in 1988, when the predominantly Armenian Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region announced its withdrawal from the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic. Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, 20% of the territory of Azerbaijan, are under occupation by the Armenian armed forces. In May 1994, the parties reached a ceasefire. The territorial conflict has not yet been resolved.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the Armenian armed forces had already fired at the village of Terter. Several houses were then destroyed and some 400 mines were fired. On October 1, 16 civilians were killed in the village, 55 people were injured.
