The former adviser to the secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, Serhiy Sivokho, believes that nothing unexpected happened in the situation with the removal of Vitold Fokin from the post of first deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation in the trilateral contact group.

Vitold Fokin, who was the first deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), was harassed.

Serhiy Sivokho, a former adviser to the secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, expressed this view in a video message posted on October 2 by the Politics of the Country Telegram channel.

“In the situation with Fokin, nothing unexpected happened. Again, the persecution, vulgar and disgusting, just as vulgar and disgusting to those who organized it. I know. Once again, the voice of reason screamed and booed … And Vitold Pavlovich, of course, a lot of respect for the opposition, “said Sivokho.

He thanked Fokine for returning “to active politics.”

“Thank you for doing good PR for him. Now a strong and experienced player has appeared on the world team,” said Sivokho.

On August 18, Fokin, 87, became the first deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG. The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, recommended it to the rest of the negotiators.

On September 29, during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the organization of state power, local self-government, regional development and urban planning, Fokin said he was not sure whether Ukraine and Russia were at war. He also said that he would never be an enemy of Russia.

The committee recommended that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemn Fokine’s statements and dismiss him. After that, Yermak said that Fokin should leave the TCG, and the President’s Office said they were “unpleasantly surprised” by the negotiator’s statements.

On September 30, Zelensky removed Fokin from the Ukrainian delegation to the trilateral contact group to resolve the conflict in Donbas and relieved him of his duties as deputy head of the delegation.

In March, Sivokho called the war in Donbas an “internal conflict” and also said that there was a “hybrid war” there and that it was a “multi-layered conflict”. Following the scandalous statements, Sivokho was fired from the NSDC. Commenting on his resignation, the actor said that NSDC employees are no longer interested in the Donbass issue.

In 2014, immediately after the annexation of Crimea, Russia launched an armed aggression in eastern Ukraine. The fighting is between the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the one hand, and the Russian army and the Russian-backed militants who control parts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, on the other. The Russian Federation does not officially recognize its invasion of Ukraine, despite the facts and evidence presented by Ukraine.
