Biden leads Trump after first debate: The Hill

After the first election debate in the United States, most Americans prefer Democratic candidate Joe Biden, The Hill reports, citing a public opinion poll by CNBC and Change Research.

Biden has the support of 54% of those polled, the incumbent president and Republican candidate Donald Trump, 41%. At the same time, 53% of survey participants believe that Biden performed better in debates, 29%, than Trump.

45% of those polled said Trump performed worse than expected in the debate, 11% think the same about Biden.

After the debate, only 2% of those polled changed their mind about who to vote for in the presidential elections. And 77% of those surveyed were disappointed with the organization of the discussions.

The public opinion poll was conducted from September 29 to 30, 925 potential voters participated, the statistical error was 3.22 percentage points. The results of the electoral debate questions are based on the responses of 796 potential voters, with a margin of error of 3.47 percentage points.

On the eve of the debate, The Hill published the results of a poll, according to which 45% of Americans are willing to support Donald Trump and 47% Joe Biden.

The first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden took place on the night of September 30 in Cleveland. The second debate will take place on October 15 in Miami and the third in Nashville on October 22.

More than 73 million Americans watched the debate, according to Nielsen.

A CNN poll found that six in ten viewers of a debate in America think that Joe Biden did the best.

Most CBS News viewers also named Joe Biden as the winner of the debate.

The US presidential elections are scheduled for November 3.
