Fire in the village of Stanitsa Luganskaya
On Donetskaya Street there are many explosive objects that detonate due to the high temperature.
Large-scale fires in the Lugansk region reached the village of Stanytsia Luhanska at the contact line. Now almost all the houses on Donetskaya Street are on fire, the Stanichno-Lugansk Regional State Administration reported on its Facebook page on Thursday, October 1.
It is indicated that the situation in the town is very difficult. Putting out the fire is complicated by the fact that during 2014-2016 Donetskaya Street was heavily bombed by separatists. Today there are many explosives left there, which detonate due to the high temperature.
“Powerful gusts of wind blow the flame over the railway embankment towards Lebedinsky Street,” the message reads.
Earlier it was learned that the border guards closed the Stanytsia Luganskaya checkpoint due to a fire. It was later reported that the fire partially damaged the infrastructure of this checkpoint. At the moment, all access operations are suspended.
