The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) has authorized the operation of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in its waters. However, the operation can be carried out only after meeting the conditions prescribed in the building permit.
The DEA press service reports.
According to the DEA’s decision, the pipeline can be put into operation only after testing at least one of the pipeline lines, and then it must be verified.
Nord Stream 2 AG applied for a permit to operate the pipeline on November 18, 2019.
Let us remind you that the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline aims to connect Russia and Germany through the Baltic Sea. Kiev opposes the Russian gas pipeline, because it endangers the transit of gas through the territory of Ukraine, which annually contributes to the state budget about 3 billion hryvnia.
As RBC-Ukraine wrote, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen advocated stopping the construction of Nord Stream 2, because it threatens the energy independence of Europe.
Additionally, the United States is working to build a coalition against Nord Stream 2.
