The 32-year-old Rizespor defender, who has spent four seasons with the Dynamo, shared his expectations about the upcoming Champions League group stage draw.
– What do you expect from the Dynamo in the Champions League?
– For me, the most important thing is that they got into the Champions League. And now I can safely say that the team will not be embarrassed. I remembered, of course, the games with Chelsea, when I blushed after those games. But now Dynamo has taken a big step. I think that even in matches with the best Dynamo rivals, you will not be ashamed. It will be a great experience for young children, it will be an unreal experience and emotions for them.
– And what do you think about Sergei Rebrov’s success with Ferencvaros?
– I said before that Rebrov has an idea, the players understand what they want from them. Going into the field, you know what to do. You understand what kind of soccer you will play. All this is not done in a day, in a month, it is done gradually. Ferencváros hasn’t played in the Champions League since 1995. And Rebrov took the team there. Rebrov is a young coach with a future. Rebrov is one of those coaches who can convey his idea to footballers. Footballers are imbued with this idea, they enter the field and they translate it into reality.
Who are the Dynamo’s rivals? Three variants of the Champions League draw for Kiev
– Would you like to see Ferencváros and Dynamo in the same group in the Champions League?
– I want Ferencvaros and Dynamo to be in different groups. I would like to compete with Real or Bayern. Young people who saw the Champions League on television will be able to play in it. And I want to hope to leave the group. As a fan, I want Dynamo to find strong teams.
