A charismatic player with a strong character and the ability to score the biggest goals – that’s how we remember him on the pitch. An incredibly kind and bright person, always ready to help – that’s how it was in life.

Blessed memory of Sergei Atelkin. His name will always be in Shakhtar history and in the hearts of the fans.

Sergey Atelkin was born on January 8, 1972. A graduate of Shakhtar Donetsk, he made his debut with the main team in 1990 as a forward. Besides the Pitmen, he played in Flint (Kremenchug), Lecce (Italy), Boavista (Portugal), Metallurg (Donetsk). He played two games for the Ukraine team.

Together with Shakhtar, he became the champion of Ukraine, he won the Ukrainian Cup four times.
