Real income of Ukrainians fell for the first time in four years
The decrease in real income of Ukrainian citizens was the first since the first quarter of 2016.
The real disposable income of Ukrainians in the second quarter of 2020 decreased by 7.3%, for the first time since 2016. This was reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
According to them, the income of the population of Ukraine during this period amounted to 867.5 billion hryvnia. While the costs are 865.6 billion hryvnia.
In addition, according to the statistics department, the increase in savings in 2019 amounted to 1.9 billion UAH. Disposable income per person: 15,566 UAH (in the second quarter of 2019: 16,345 UAH).
The State Statistics Service points out that household consumer spending for the second quarter of 2020 fell by 10.4%.
According to the statistics department, the highest spending item for the second quarter of 2020 among Ukrainians was “Food and non-alcoholic beverages”: 42.9%.
Recalls that the performance Education Minister Sergei Shkarlet said that by the end of 2021, teachers’ salaries will increase by almost 30% compared to August 2020.
In addition, the National Bank expects an increase in average salaries by 15%. The increase in the “minimum wage” will raise average wages, but will not affect the exchange rate and prices, promises the central bank.
