– This is an important victory for us from a psychological point of view. Cup matches are always unexpected and sometimes the best clubs lose. This is the first win in my time here, and I think this is just the beginning. In the first half we played very well and in the second we lost some structure. In overtime, the team showed character and skill. What we have no right to do against any rival is to score goals. It is unacceptable. After the victory, I am very happy. I want to present the victory to Alexei Chichikov. We sympathize with the loss of his father and the team wanted to give him victory today.

– What did you experience in the last minute of regulation time, when Miner-Sport was taking a penalty?

– We must believe to the end. That’s what the goalkeeper is for. Today he showed strength, mentality and skill, he read and gave us extra time and a chance to win the game. Yes, there was tension.

– Rainy weather added intrigue to the game. How has it influenced the performance of your team?

– We expected a difficult match. I liked the opponent when we were doing the analysis. The team has structure, a good style of play. You can see what they want on the field. We prepare, but when you lose, of course, you simplify football. We had to show fighting qualities. This was demonstrated by the match against Alexandria. We did not prepare well or we did not understand the game in the best way. We will draw conclusions. I repeat that a cup match is always unexpected and victory is very important. Move on.

– How will you recover before the championship game? Should you expect team turnover?

– Of course, psychological recovery is very important. We will prepare more theoretically, we will analyze Vorskla. Now there is a lot of tension around us, but the victory will give us confidence and positive emotions, so before the break we will give a victory to the fans.
