Verkhovna Rada closed for three weeks

The popular deputies made changes to the calendar for the fourth session. The next plenary session is scheduled for October 20.

The Verkhovna Rada went into quarantine due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak among MPs. 281 deputies voted for the corresponding draft resolution # 4171 on Wednesday, September 30.

“To modify the schedule plan for the fourth session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the ninth convocation … on work in October 2020,” says the resolution.

It is indicated that on October 1, 2, 5-9, the popular deputies will work in committees, commissions, factions of deputies and groups.

“Week of October 19-23: October 19 – work with voters, October 20 – plenary session, October 21, 22, 23 – work with voters,” says the resolution.

Earlier, Parliament Speaker Dmitry Razumkov said that the Rada could go into quarantine due to the increase in infected MPs. In recent days, up to 10 people fell ill both in the session room and in the Rada Administration.

We will remember, yesterday it became known that the fifth president of Ukraine and people’s deputy, Petro Poroshenko, fell ill with coronavirus. Furthermore, the coronavirus infection was confirmed by People’s Deputy Zhan Beleniuk.

In addition, the popular deputy and head of the Voice party, Kira Rudyk, fell ill with coronavirus.
