There will be three consecutive weekends in 2021

The Council of Ministers plans to approve the decree “On the transfer of days in 2021”. They will be postponed three business days next year.

The bill was included in the agenda of the government meeting on September 30.

The postponement is proposed to ensure the rational use of working time and create favorable conditions for the celebration in 2021: January 7 – Christmas, August 24 – Independence Day of Ukraine, October 14 – Day of the Defender of Ukraine.

The bill proposes to postpone in 2021 for workers who have a five-day work week with two days off on Saturday and Sunday, working days starting on:

  • From Friday, January 8 to Saturday, January 16;
  • From Monday, August 23 to Saturday, August 28;
  • Friday, October 15 to Saturday, October 23

According to the project, the National Bank of Ukraine will determine the special mode of operation of banks and their institutions these days.

As RBC-Ukraine reported, in October 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers approved an order on the postponement of working days in 2020 for employees of companies, institutions and organizations that have a five-day work week with two days off (Saturday and Sunday).

Keep in mind that, as evidenced by the KIIS survey data, Ukrainians’ favorite holidays are Christmas, Easter and New Years.
