Ukraine will study the EU decision on sanctions against Belarus when that decision is made. The Ukrainian side will make a decision based on political and national interests.
Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
“When the EU decides to impose sanctions against Belarus, we will carefully study this decision. It is not yet available. The national, political and economic interests of Ukraine are important to us,” Kuleba said.
The minister added that Belarus remains a neighboring state friendly to Ukraine, despite recent statements and actions by Alexander Lukashenko.
“Our state could become a neutral mediator to help overcome the political crisis. Unfortunately, instead of the friendly hand that Ukraine extended, Alexander Lukashenko put everything in the suffocating embrace of Vladimir Putin,” Kuleba said.
Let us remind you that Putin said about the “unprecedented” external pressure on Belarus.
Earlier it was reported that Belarus strengthens the border with Ukraine and closes it with Poland and Lithuania.
