“Fradi” will play in the most prestigious European competition for the first time since the 1995/96 season.

Last season Sergei Rebrov gave Ferencváros their first European Cup group stage appearance in 15 years. This season, the first entry to the Champions League group in 25 years!
Ferencváros played 0-0 at home with Molde and advanced to the group stage under the away goal rule as the score was 3-3 in Norway. Ukrainian “green white” legionnaires Igor Kharatin and Alexander Zubkov played from whistle to whistle.
Before the Norwegians headed to the Champions League, “Fradi” defeated Swedish champion Djurgården, Scottish champion Celtic and Croatian champion Dinamo Zagreb.

This is the third overall classification for the Champions League group stage for Hungarian clubs. In addition to Ferencváros in the 1995/96 and current season, Debrecen triumphed in the 2009/10 campaign.
