An air leak has been detected on the International Space Station in the Russian module Zvezda. In the next few days it will be located and eliminated.
TASS reports.
“After the analysis and search of the place of air leakage from the atmosphere of the ISS, it was established that this place is located in the Zvezda service module, which contains scientific equipment,” said the Roscosmos press service.
At the moment, the leak is located in the work compartment of the service module.
“A specific location for a possible leak is being sought,” added Roscosmos.
As noted, the air leak does not threaten the crew of the International Space Station. The ISS can continue to fly in manned mode.
Recall that on August 20 there was an air leak on the ISS, as a result of which the entire crew was isolated in the Russian module.
Additionally, in August 2018, the ISS experienced an air leak through a small opening in the capsule to deliver a new crew; this could have happened as a result of being hit by a meteorite fragment.
