On Tuesday September 29, Vitold Fokin, first deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation in the trilateral talks on Donbass, commented on Russia’s demands to resolve the conflict. He stated that “there is no reception against scrap metal”.

He said this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the organization of state power, local self-government, regional development and urban planning.

“Russia demands exactly what is written in the Minsk accords: hold elections and here, sorry, there is no reception against scrap metal,” Fokin said.

Furthermore, Fokin previously stated that it would be impossible to hold a selective amnesty in Donbass. In his opinion, it should be universal, which does not mean the possibility of avoiding the punishment of criminals, rapists and murderers.

Later, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Aleksey Reznikov said that the Cabinet of Ministers was preparing transitional justice bills, but that the amnesty would not be universal.

Furthermore, RBC-Ukraine wrote that Fokin mentioned the conditions under which he would leave TKG.
