Under the agreement, the company undertook to build a centralized storage facility for spent nuclear fuel from Ukraine’s nuclear power plants. Then the cost of building the storage facility increased to 1.36 billion UAH.
After that, in 2017-2019, the manager of Energoatom received for free from another company, also controlled by the former deputy of Verkhovna Rada, three apartments in new buildings in Kiev with a total value of almost 4.42 million UAH. According to investigators, it is a bribe for signing a contract with the former deputy’s company.
NABU points out that this is the second episode of corruption abuses revealed by NABU and SAP with the participation of the people’s deputy. Earlier, detectives established their involvement in the seizure of National Guard property of more than 81 million UAH. The investigation of this episode has been completed.
