Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired an emergency meeting of the Security Council devoted to the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.

«During the meeting, the operational situation on the border between Karabakh and Azerbaijan and the actions aimed at launching a proportional retaliatory attack by the Armenian armed forces on the enemy were discussed, ”the agency quotes the Pashinyan press service.

The fighting between Armenian and Azerbaijani troops on the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh began on the night of September 27. Azerbaijan and Armenia introduced martial law and announced the mobilization of the reserve.
Both countries blame each other for the escalation of the conflict and declare casualties in combat and casualties among the population.
The international community called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to immediately cease hostilities and to sit at the negotiating table.
