Exchange rates for September 29: hryvnia continues to fall

NBU weakened the hryvnia

The national currency is losing ground against both the dollar and the euro, setting new anti-records.

The National Bank of Ukraine lowered the hryvnia exchange rate by 3 kopecks against the dollar and 16 kopecks against the euro on Tuesday, September 29. This is evidenced by the data on the NBU website on Monday, September 28.

Therefore, the official dollar rate rose to its highest level since the beginning of 2020.

The National Bank has established the official exchange rates at the following level:

– 100 USD – 2,830.62 UAH (+0.0389 UAH)

– 100 euros – 3303.76 hryvnia (+0.1613 UAH).

In the interbank foreign exchange market, the dollar for sale exchange rate decreased by 2 kopecks to 28.29 hryvnia per dollar, the purchase exchange rate to 28.27 hryvnia per dollar. The exchange rate of the euro for sale increased by 6 kopecks to 33.00 hryvnia per euro.

NBU has more than doubled the sale of foreign currency

Earlier, the National Bank explained the current decline in the hryvnia by a seasonal factor. This situation was in every year, with the exception of the past, which turned out to be specific, explained the deputy head of the NBU Dmitry Sologub.
