The prosecution announced the indictment in the case of the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet. However, the investigation did not identify the clients and organizers of the journalist’s murder.
This was reported by the RBK-Ukraine correspondent.
According to the indictment, the defendants Andrei Antonenko, Yulia Kuzmenko and Yana Dugar joined in a criminal group and decided to kill the journalist on the orders of unidentified persons.
The investigation believes that Dugar was collecting information about the journalist’s movement, and Kuzmenko and Antonenko placed an explosive device under his car.
All the defendants stated that they deny their guilt in this crime.
Furthermore, Antonenko’s defense asked the court to change the immobilization measure and release him from custody.
The case is heard by a jury.
As a reminder, on September 4, the court selected the jury to consider the Sheremet case. In total, seven people were submitted to the jury, but one of the plaintiffs, Anna Chupina, was rejected and the second, nurse Inna Kramarenko, was rejected after stating that “doctors cannot be murderers”.
On September 9, the court ruled the jury in the murder case of journalist Pavel Sheremet. As a result of the draw, they were divided into main and reserve.
