Avakov in local elections in Ukraine will not give preference to the Servant of the people

The role of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov in Ukraine’s local elections will be decisive. However, experts believe that the politician does not give preference to one or another political force in elections.

Political scientist Volodymyr Fesenko announced this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine, according to the article “The Avakov factor: what to expect from the police in local elections.”

Fesenko rejects the view that the head of the Interior Ministry can play on the side of the Servant of the People party, because this will cause even more tension around him.

“The role of the Interior Ministry and the minister in these elections will be very, very decisive,” Fesenko said.

At the same time, Olga Aivazovskaya, coordinator of Opora, believes that power in each territorial community is now divided between different parties. She added that Avakov is “a political person whose decisions are carried out by all departments under the jurisdiction of the Interior Ministry.”

We will remember, experts said, where there can be conflicts in local elections.

Note that Avakov threatened a harsh reaction to the violations in the local elections.
