The fight between WBC World Champion Jermall Charlo of the USA and title challenger Serhiy Derevyanchenko of Ukraine lasted all 12 rounds.
On September 27, 34-year-old Ukrainian middleweight boxer Serhiy Derevyanchenko lost the fight for the WBC world title. The Ukrainian Boxing Federation (FBU) reported on this.
The fight took place in the American city of Uncasville (Connecticut).
The rival of the Ukrainian was the holder of the title of champion Jermall Charlo of the USA, Derevyanchenko had the status of a contender.
The fight lasted the 12 rounds and ended with the victory of Charlo by unanimous decision: 116: 112, 117: 111, 118: 110.
FBU notes that for most of the fight Derevyanchenko boxed with a large bruise over his left eye, which limited the Ukrainian’s visibility.
For Derevyanchenko, this is the third loss in a professional career, all of them were recorded in battles for the champion title: in October 2018, in October 2019 and in September 2020.
