“The Russian side expressed serious concern over the resumption of large-scale armed clashes. It was noted that it is now important to take all necessary efforts to prevent further escalation of the confrontation, and most importantly, it is necessary to stop hostilities.” said the press service of the Russian president.
During the day, according to the Armenian side, 16 soldiers of the Karabakh Defense Army died and more than a hundred were injured.
Many foreign countries and international organizations have called for an end to the conflict. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held talks on Sunday with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who supported the Baku side in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
