A cadet from the Kharkov National Air Force University, Vyacheslav Zolochevsky, told how he escaped the An-26 plane crash near Chuguev in the Kharkov region, reports the UNN agency. There were 27 people on board, 26 died, only Zolochevsky managed to survive.
The cadet said that he managed to survive, since during the accident he was covered with part of the plane. “It was in a certain capsule, like the fuselage of an airplane, part of the plane was covering it, therefore, in fact, the fire did not reach it,” explained the head of the Kharkiv regional administration, Aleksey Kucher.
Recall that earlier Zolochevsky said that everything happened as in a computer game. At some point, he lost consciousness and then woke up. After that, he began to put out his colleague’s fire, he was hospitalized, but he could not survive.
The State Office of Ukraine is now working out various versions of the incident. A technical malfunction, a crew error, or problems with the maintenance of the aircraft could lead to a disaster.
