The government of Azerbaijan has introduced martial law in various cities and regions of the country. The question of the introduction of martial law was discussed at an emergency meeting of the Milli Mejlis.

According to MP Hikmet Babaoglu, the decision will be approved by President Ilham Aliyev within 48 hours.

“Finally, the time has come for the liberation of the occupied territories. We urge the population of the relevant cities and regions to comply with the requirements of martial law and curfews,” he said.

The curfew will be announced in Baku, Ganja, Goygol, Yevlakh and several other cities.

It should be recalled that on September 27 the Azerbaijani armed forces launched an offensive along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh. Armenia reported the destruction of several tanks and aircraft on the Azerbaijani side.

Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that he intends to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh problem and that it is not a half-solution to the conflict.

Furthermore, Nagorno-Karabakh chief Arayik Harutyunyan introduced martial law into the territory of the unrecognized republic. A general mobilization for people over 18 years of age was also announced. Martial law was also introduced in Armenia.
