35-year-old Latvian boxer Mairis Briedis (27-1, 19 KOs) won the IBF World Heavyweight Championship to 34-year-old Junier Dorticos (24-2, 22 KOs), beating him by decision in the final of the second season World Boxing Super Series on Cruiserway.
Dorticos started the fight well, winning two initial rounds, but after that the initiative in the ring was intercepted by Briedis, who acted in a more diverse and combinatorial way compared to the rather simple tactics of the Cuban.
The fight lasted the 12 rounds and ended with Briedis winning with a score of 117: 111 on the scorecards of two judges, only one of Themis representatives put up a tie with a score of 114: 114.
