The Ukraine-EU summit was postponed from October 1-6. The Ukrainian side hopes that one of the main topics of the summit will be the renewal of the Association Agreement.
About this in Twitter said the head of the European Council Charles Michel.
“During a telephone conversation with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, we agreed to meet with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in Brussels on October 6 to hold the 22nd EU-Ukraine summit,” he said.
As Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said earlier, a wide range of topics will be on the agenda during the summit. The main topic should be the update of the Association Agreement.
At the same time, the European Union Ambassador to Ukraine Matti Maasikas said that in the near future no major political steps are expected from the EU in further European integration of Ukraine, but the EU is helping Ukraine to get closer on terms of economics, standards, business and science.
Note that the Minister of Economy, Igor Petrashko, believes that official negotiations on the revision of the Association Agreement with the European Union will start in January 2021.
Earlier, Olga Stefanishina, deputy prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, said that Ukrainian companies had tabled more than 150 amendments to the Association Agreement with the EU.
