The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signed a decree on the establishment of the Day of the Winegrower and Winemaker in Ukraine.

According to the Office of the President on Facebook, during a work trip to the Transcarpathian region, Zelensky said that the new holiday will be celebrated on the second Sunday in November.

“Today I signed a decree establishing an official holiday in Ukraine – Vineyard and Winemaker Day. I know this is important for people who work in this industry,” he said.

According to the president, this is a symbolic step that underlines respect for this profession.

“At the same time, I am convinced that this is very little. The government and the corresponding ministry must present a set of measures to develop viticulture and winemaking in Ukraine,” he added.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, Zelensky, during a trip to Transcarpathia, was outraged by the fact that there are many kilometers of truck queues on the Ukrainian-Slovak border.

The president stayed in the “Derenivskaya Kupel” sanatorium, the cost of living of which starts from 2300 UAH per day.
